Information technology has tons of benefits, and I can’t end the befits since it’s beneficial for all sectors. But it also has many drawbacks that also affect us. For example, IT advancement has reduced job opportunities for humans, and people aren’t needed for many jobs. Additionally, its other drawbacks are:
Data Security
In my previous articles about IT, I mentioned that the IT sector has a major use in data management and keeping them organized and safe. However, a massive amount of data is stored in a database for processing and use. Now since the data is massive in amount, if the security is poor and if someone can hack into the system, then he or she will have access to all the data on that system. And criminals, terrorists, business rivals, and other countries can access the data, and they can be used that data to harm us, our economy, or the entire country.
Spyware
Spyware is software that is created and used by hackers to steal the data of any system or user. Now, it is hard to identify the spyware. Now, the IT sector and depart stores a massive amount of data, and they are really vulnerable if the security is not updated regularly. At the same time, if the database stores the spyware without noticing or if any hacker is able to infiltrate the database with spyware, then the hacker will get all the data of that database without you even noticing that.
Fewer Job Vacancies
One of the major drawbacks of the IT sector is that it has reduced job opportunities for people. That is because before, there were no computers and software that could easily manage and use data that easily. So, people and organizations have to use other people for those jobs, and that’s how people can make money that has created many job opportunities, and almost all people have jobs. But now the IT sector has reduced job opportunities for people. That is because IT sector development has helped create many technologies, and that’s why industries don’t need many people to do simple work; for example, before, industries needed people to keep records and manage data and make strategies as well. But now computers can do that with ease. At the same time, companies have to use lots of files and keep them in large rooms so that they can keep information. But those rooms and files are replaced but computers and data servers.
People Became Anti-Social
People before had to meet and talk face to face so that they could communicate with each other, and that helped them to build their communication ability. At the same time, they have to meet with others, which also creates good bonding. But now those things can be done, I mean, communication while you are sitting in the room and via messages or email. It has made people nowadays anti-social, where they can communicate with each other virtually but can’t say two words when they are close.
